Welcome to the Lesotho Law Reform Commission
The
Lesotho Law Reform Commission (LRC) is an institute established by
Lesotho Law Reform Act No. 9 of 1993, with a view to review the laws of
the country and to recommend an appropriate action by the
Government. This process is called “Law Reform”.
The
Law Reform Commission (LRC) discharges its mandate by, among others,
establishing what the society’s legal needs are and to make
recommendations to address them. This is due to the fact that
it
is not possible for the Parliament, which makes laws, to gather all the
information required for enactment of new laws as well as revision of
the outdated ones. The Law Reform Commission is therefore, a liaising
body between the Parliament, the Government and the society at large.
